History of Ace of Spades

Ace of Spades is the Exotic Hand Cannon of Cayde-6 (flavor: "Folding was never an option."). It is a Kinetic-slot, 140 RPM hand cannon.

Overview

• Intrinsic perk: Memento Mori. Reloading after a kill loads the magazine with a few extra-damage bullets (affected by range falloff) and grants radar while aiming down sights.
• Perk: Firefly. Precision kills cause a Solar explosion that damages nearby enemies.
• Other perks: Corkscrew Rifling, High-Caliber Rounds, Smooth Grip.
• Ornaments: Big Blind, Salute to the Colonel, Last Hand.

Acquisition

• Monument to Lost Lights (Tower, Forsaken Exotics section). Blueberries.gg lists the cost as 1 Exotic Cipher, 125,000 Glimmer and 1 Ascendant Shard; verify in-game, as costs have changed over the years.
• Historical: the "Cayde's Will" quest from the Forsaken era; it is no longer available.
• The in-game source text lists the Exotic Archive at the Tower.

Catalyst

The Ace of Spades Catalyst adds the trait Funeral Pyre: Firefly does more damage while Memento Mori is active. It drops from Strikes and Nightfalls (and per one guide, the Crucible). After it drops, 500 weapon kills with Ace of Spades complete it.
