Akka, the Worm of Secrets, was one of the five Worm Gods of Hive mythology, ancient beings second only to The Deep in the Hive pantheon. Akka held secret power that the Hive king Auryx sought. Auryx considered that power gifted rather than taken, which he saw as untrue to the Deep. Auryx, who became the Taken King as Oryx, killed Akka in the Ascendant Realm to steal its knowledge, then communed with the Deep and gained the power to Take.

Accounts differ on Akka's fate, with some describing Akka as dead and others as incapacitated. Oryx recovered a fragment of Akka's shell and used it to build the Dreadnaught, which is Akka's final resting place. The Dreadnaught's size suggests Akka was comparable to a small celestial body.
