Alak-Hul, the Lightblade is a Hive Knight and the final boss of the The Lightblade strike in Savathûn's Throne World.

Overview

Alak-Hul began as the Darkblade, a foster son of Oryx who rebelled against him after the failed raid on Crota and was imprisoned aboard the Dreadnaught. A fireteam killed him in his cell, and he was the boss of The Sunless Cell strike. Years later a Hive Ghost of the Lucent Brood resurrected him as the Lightblade. He allied with the Lucent Brood, and Savathûn tasked him with guarding a temple dedicated to Oryx that held a fragment of the Tablets of Ruin.

Location

The fight takes place in the temple in Savathûn's Throne World, in a room dedicated to Oryx. He is also met earlier in the strike at the Queen's Bailey and near the Temple of the Navigator.

Boss fight

He is aggressive from the start, using axe slams and Arc projectiles, and summons Hive reinforcements. At roughly two-thirds and one-third health he becomes immune and a Lucent Hive wave spawns; the wave's Ghosts must be destroyed before he can be damaged again. Barrier Knights join later in the fight. He is defeated when his health is fully depleted, and in the story version Guardians then recover the Tablet of Ruin fragment from an altar.

Trivia

Reported phase thresholds differ slightly between sources, so the percentages above are approximate.
