Overview

Atelic is a triumph unlocked by collecting the sixth lore entry from the Aspect lore book. Introduced in Shadowkeep (2019), this entry presents a philosophical reflection on time, mortality, and the nature of Guardians' resurrection abilities.

How to complete

Collect the Atelic entry from the Aspect lore book by defeating Vex enemies throughout the Solar System. This entry is one of nine in the book and unlocks automatically when obtained.

Lore content

Atelic is a philosophical monologue that explores the nature of time and causality. The entry features a character (possibly imprisoned in the Vault of Glass) discussing time, free will, and the unique position of Guardians who can overcome seemingly impossible odds through resurrection. The entry's central passage captures the key theme: "We live in time. They use it as a tool." This reflects on the difference between mortal beings who experience time linearly versus the Vex, who manipulate time as an instrument.

The narrative begins with the challenge: "Describe time. No, really, give it a go," and proceeds to examine how Guardians, through their Ghosts' resurrection abilities, can "make a fate you like better."
