History of Battle of Twilight Gap

Overview

The Battle of Twilight Gap was the defence of the Last City against a combined assault by several Fallen Houses, including the House of Devils, House of Kings and House of Winter. The Iron Lord Saladin Forge led the defence with Zavala and Lord Shaxx. Per the lore, Shaxx disobeyed an order to retreat and held the Wall with a small fireteam until the counterattack arrived.

Aftermath

The City won at heavy cost. Solkis, Kell of Devils, was killed there. Shaxx later petitioned the Vanguard to set up the Crucible so Guardians could train with live-fire exercises. Accounts of its details differ between Destinypedia and Bungie's lore posts.
