History of Boomer

Boomer is a Hive siege cannon, an enemy-used weapon in Destiny and Destiny 2. It is used by Hive Knights and Acolytes and by Taken Knights and Acolytes.

Overview

The Hive Boomer fires Arc starfire bolts with splash damage and an arcing trajectory. It has long range, moderate accuracy and high impact, and is effective at flushing Guardians out of cover and suppressing them. The Taken Boomer fires Void bolts in a straight line, which is more precise but less versatile.

Counterplay

Take cover, stay airborne away from walls to dodge splash damage, stagger the enemy before they fire, or move quickly enough to outpace its tracking.

Trivia

Hiraks, the Mindbender, uses a related variant called the Scorn Boomer.
