History of Boon

Boons are the player-beneficial modifiers in the activity customization of the Portal, added with Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate. The opposite are Bane modifiers, which empower enemies; see also Challenge Modifiers.

What they do

• You can select up to three boons.
• Examples: Grappler (replaces your grenade with three grapple charges that recharge on touching a surface) and Brawler (buffs melee damage and recharge speed).

Score and rewards

Reports differ on how boons affect score. Some say they do not set reward tier directly but help players survive higher difficulties to reach a higher grade, while others say they raise the final score on lower difficulties and lower it at higher tiers (The Edge of Fate).

The Boon Modifiers triumph asks you to finish an activity with a Boon active.
