History of Box Breathing

Overview

Box Breathing rewards aiming down sights without firing. After about 1.5 seconds of aiming without firing, the next shot gets bonus range and precision damage. That bonus resets once you fire or leave zoom.

light.gg's community research gives the buff as +10% aim assist falloff distance and +1 precision multiplier for one shot (for example 1.5x to 2.5x). Scout Rifles take a small precision penalty (about 5%) while the perk is active, which light.gg says is inconsistent. A later tuning note reduced the flat first-precision buff on the Heavy Ammo Sniper. The Forsaken-era article describes much larger damage when paired with damage buffs. Figures are from different patches, so check the current perk text.

It rolls on a wide pool of Sniper Rifle and Scout Rifle rolls, so look at the Rolls On list when choosing a gun.

• Forsaken (2018): the perk was nerfed after it was found to be one of the strongest weapon perks in the game.
