History of Chimera

A Chimera is a Taken boss enemy type. The unique Taken Chimera Hefnd's Vengeance, also called Blighted Chimaera, is the final boss of Warlord's Ruin, the dungeon of Season of the Wish.

Hefnd's Vengeance

Shoot the blight in the centre of the arena to start the fight. The Chimera is immune to damage until its shield is removed, and it summons Taken, including Wish-Lured Blightmakers.

• Shooting the six Blighted Eyes around the Chimera summons Nymeks and Sirloks, the Broken Knights. Killing them drops corrupted totems.
• The Imminent Wish buff lets the fireteam cleanse the totems. Cleansing applies the Hex of Vengeful Corruption, which must be passed to a Corrupted Hex-Drinker by meleeing it. Reported timers for the hex range from 15 to 17 seconds (2024).
• Once the totems and hexes are cleansed, Naeem's Wish Empowerment allows damage to the boss.
• After enough damage, the Chimera retreats to a higher floor, and the sequence repeats across three islands. In the final stand, the fireteam is teleported to the top with an indefinite empowerment buff.

Trivia

Before the Locus of Wailing Grief encounter, the boss was briefly named Ascendant Primeval Servitor. The name was corrected near the end of Season of the Wish.
