History of Cleansing

Cleansing is a Battleground on the Cosmodrome added in Season of the Chosen. It was later renamed Foothold in patch 3.1.0.2. In vengeance for the destruction of their homeworld, the Cabal attack a Hive nest dug deep into the Cosmodrome. Players fight through Cabal and Hive forces and finish with a boss fight against Val Ma'rag, a Cabal Incendior. It was a Vanguard Ops activity and part of the seasonal challenges.

Later use

After The Witch Queen removed Season of the Chosen content, the activity was reworked in patch 4.0.0.1 as a randomly chosen Strike in the Vanguard Ops playlist. It cannot be launched directly from the Director, and its Champion-enemy version is unavailable.
