History of Collapse

Overview

The Collapse was the catastrophe that ended humanity's Golden Age. The Darkness's Black Fleet attacked the Sol System, killing most of the population, until the Traveler sacrificed itself to repel the fleet and went dormant, releasing Ghosts that resurrected the first Guardians. Its ruins are visible across Earth, for instance in the Cosmodrome, where an unlaunched colony ship and abandoned vehicles remain. Destinypedia credits the fleet's attack to Nezarec's command; treat attribution as lore-source dependent.
