History of Core of Dread

Overview

Core of Dread is a carryable item from Nightmare Containment in Season of the Haunted. Players deposit it into the Nightmare Harvester to bind Shards of Dread.

Acquisition

• Dread Bearers, powerful Scorn enemies that spawn during the event, drop Cores of Dread. They can be picked up and carried.
• Depositing a Core into the Nightmare Harvester binds 10 Shards of Dread and spawns a Scythe relic.
• Each deposit brings a Dread Devourer that moves toward the Harvester and steals bound shards on contact. Scythe relics help clear it.
