History of Cryptarch

Overview

Cryptarchs are "crypto-archaeologists" who study encoded matter and Golden Age artifacts, and decode Engrams into items. There are two rival factions, the Tower Cryptarchy and the Reef Cryptarchy. Notable ones are Master Rahool (Tower), Master Ives (Reef, deceased) and Tyra Karn, a founding archivist. The Tower faction aids Guardians freely, while the Reef faction reveres the Engram as the purest matter.
