History of Cuboid Cod

Overview

Cuboid Cod is a fish in Destiny 2's fishing activity, added with Season of the Deep. The triumph requires catching one. It awards no score in the game data.

The fish is a Rare catch found only at the Cistern pond on Nessus. Dexerto's table lists it as both Rare and Legendary, so the Rare tier is the one most guides agree on.

How to complete

1. Finish the first weekly mission, "Into the Depths." It leads to a quest from the holoprojector that sends you to Hawthorne, who gives you the tackle box needed for fishing.
2. Collect Bait. It comes from Salvage, Deep Dives, playlist activities, public events and patrols. Harder or longer activities give more bait.
3. Travel to the Cistern on Nessus. This is the only pond where Cuboid Cod appears.
4. Press interact to cast, then press it again when the prompt appears to reel the fish in. Press interact quickly after a bite to land a Perfect Catch, which fills the Focused Fishing meter faster and improves your odds for rarer fish.
5. Fishing with other Guardians at the same pond raises the group Focused Fishing meter, which helps rare catches.

Tips

• Ponds disappear when a public event starts in the same area and come back shortly after it ends.
• The fishing guides consulted date from the launch of Season of the Deep and the season has ended, so pond locations and bait sources may have changed.
