History of Cup Bearer Catfish

Overview

The Cup-Bearer Catfish is a fish added to the fishing activity with Season of the Deep in Destiny 2. The triumph requires catching one. It awards no score in the game data.

The fish is a Rare catch found only at the Miasma pond in Savathûn's Throne World. Dexerto's table lists it as both Rare and Legendary, so treat the tier as Rare unless a current guide says otherwise.

How to complete

1. Finish the first weekly mission, "Into the Depths," to get the tackle box from Hawthorne (see Cuboid Cod for the full chain).
2. Collect Bait from Salvage, Deep Dives, playlist activities, public events and patrols.
3. Travel to the Miasma pond in Savathûn's Throne World. This is the only pond where the catfish appears.
4. Press interact to cast and again when the bobber bites. A Perfect Catch, pressing interact shortly after the bite, fills the Focused Fishing meter faster and helps with rarer fish.
5. Fish with other Guardians at the same pond to raise the group Focused Fishing meter.

Tips

• Ponds disappear while a public event in the same area is running and reappear after it ends.
• The guides consulted were written at the launch of Season of the Deep, so pond locations and bait may have changed since.
