Overview
Cutting Edge: Collision Slow Capture is a Crucible matchmade playlist mode in The Crucible, part of the Cutting Edge rotation introduced with The Edge of Fate. The Cutting Edge is a loadout-restricted, Crucible Labs-style playlist: only New Gear is permitted, and wearing a full set of New Gear applies the full New Gear bonus to the Crucible Reward Multiplier. It is launched from the Crucible node in the Director (the playlist stays locked until Friday of the first week of a season). Power is not a factor in ordinary Crucible play, and there is no difficulty selector; matchmaking is the only variable.
Mode: a 3v3 shootout across a series of shifting zones; this is the Slow Capture variant of Collision (see Collision: Slow Capture Variant).
Mechanics
- Gear restriction: you must have only New Gear equipped to queue. The Cutting Edge rotates weekly through different modes and fireteam sizes, each with a curated set of five maps for that week, so this mode is only available some weeks.
- Sibling modes in the same rotation: Cutting Edge: Clash, Cutting Edge: Collision Slow Capture, Cutting Edge: Elimination, Cutting Edge: Oddball, Cutting Edge: Rift, Cutting Edge: Rumble, Cutting Edge: Supremacy, Cutting Edge: Zone Control.
Rewards
The rewards are the Crucible gear and weapons the playlist can drop, including the Last Discipline armor set. Crucible armor sets from The Edge of Fate can also be focused at Lord Shaxx.
