History of Deafening Whisker

Overview

Deafening Whisker is a Triumph in Destiny 2 that requires catching one Deafening Whisker, a Legendary fish from Season of the Deep. The fishing details below are from guides written for the 2023 season.

How to complete

1. Finish the first weekly mission of Season of the Deep, Into the Depths. Then speak with Hawthorne, who asks for bait and gives you the tackle box.
2. Collect bait from Salvages, Deep Dives, playlist activities, public events, patrols or destination materials. Harder, longer activities give more bait.
3. Go to a fishing pond. The ponds are constant public events in the European Dead Zone (the Outskirts), on Nessus (the Cistern) and in Savathûn's Throne World (the Miasma). The Deafening Whisker is in the Legendary group; reports differ on which pond holds it, so try each one.
4. Press interact to cast, then press it again as soon as the prompt appears to reel in the fish. A Perfect Catch fills the Focused Fishing meter further.

Tips

• A fuller Focused Fishing meter improves the odds of rare fish, so fishing in a group helps.
• Fish you leave on the ground during a public event still count toward the next pond's meter, so you can collect them when the next pond spawns.
