Overview
Deep Stone Crypt is a six-player Raid on Europa, added with Destiny 2: Beyond Light on November 21, 2020. It is a Fallen-and-Clovis Bray facility story ending with Taniks, the Abomination. There is no matchmaking; assemble a fireteam yourself or use Fireteam Finder. Gear drops once per character per week when it is the featured raid; owning Beyond Light is required.
Power: Launch-era guides recommended roughly 1220-1250 (Shacknews) or 1300+ (GameRant); the game data here lists a generic value, so check the in-game recommended Power for the current season, since power caps have been reset since.
Core mechanic: three rotating augments, Operator (shoots panels/keypads), Scanner (sees which are live) and Suppressor (stuns the boss), appear throughout the raid. Note that the sources differ on how many encounters they count (4 to 6) depending on whether the sparrow section and the Descent are counted.
Encounters
Sparrow section (Desolation)
Race through frozen terrain on sparrows, moving between protective bubbles. Staying in the storm adds Frostbite stacks, which kills you at 10. Fallen enemies line the way.
Crypt Security
The arena is split into a Light (white) side and a Dark (red) side. Players rotate between Scanner (identifies which keypads are glowing) and Operator (shoots keypads) to disable the security fuses, while others kill adds. Upstairs players must know which side to stand on, so call sides clearly.
Atraks-1, Fallen Exo
The most complex encounter, fought across a lower crypt and an upper space-station platform linked by teleporters. Atraks-1 spawns copies; identify the glowing copy (Scanner), damage it, collect the purple orbs, and cleanse the Replication/"Contained" debuff by ejecting it through the airlocks before the timer (about 40 seconds per Paracausality) expires, or the team wipes. Teams split into upper and lower groups and alternate between space and the crypt.
The Descent
A jumping puzzle as the station falls, with a hidden chest. No boss; operator panels open the way.
Taniks, Reborn
Introduces the Suppressor role. The team collects Nuclear Cores and deposits them while managing the Radiation debuff; the Suppressor shoots the floating white drone targets to stun the boss.
Taniks, the Abomination
The finale, on an exterior platform in space across three arena sections. Repeat the core relay with all three roles, then damage Taniks in the damage phases. There are two damage phases separated by core deposits. Guides favor Well of Radiance and Ward of Dawn for the boss.
Challenges
Four encounter challenges: Red Rover, Copies of Copies, Of All Trades, The Core Four. Completing a challenge gives double loot and counts toward triumphs that raise Eyes of Tomorrow's drop chance (Survival of the Fittest gives the largest boost; each challenge +1), per Kyber's Corner.
Rewards
- Eyes of Tomorrow (Exotic rocket launcher that fires multiple tracking rockets)
- Heritage shotgun, Succession sniper, Trustee scout rifle, Posterity hand cannon, Commemoration machine gun, Bequest sword
- Legacy's Oath armor sets; helmets come only from the final boss.
Community picks: Succession (Reconstruction + Vorpal Weapon) and Heritage are standout PvE weapons; fusion rifles such as Sleeper Simulant, Tarantula and Xenophage, Divinity and The Lament are cited for damage phases.
Related triumphs
