History of Deepsight Resonance

Overview

Deepsight Resonance is a weapon trait introduced in The Witch Queen as part of weapon crafting. Weapons that roll it have a red border and a distinct sound on drop. Only craftable weapons roll Deepsight, and a weapon whose Pattern is already unlocked does not.

Acquisition

Deepsight drops randomly from activities that reward craftable weapons, so players usually keep farming a weapon until it appears with the trait. The Deepsight Harmonizer applies Deepsight to an eligible weapon you own and is consumed on use. Weapons from raid vendors are ineligible, while those from Banshee-44 and Xûr qualify.

Extraction

Each Deepsight pattern needs a set number of extractions, from 1 to 5 depending on the weapon. Since Lightfall, inspect the weapon, open the Mod section's Pattern panel and press Extract Pattern. Extraction keeps the weapon, and progress is tracked in Collections. Once a pattern is unlocked, the weapon can be forged at The Enclave.

Sources disagree on dismantling. Screen Rant says Lightfall removed dismantling as a way to gain pattern progress, while the Destiny wiki says dismantling a Deepsight weapon with an available pattern grants progress.

Changes

The original system had an attunement objective that Lightfall removed. Deepsight also stopped appearing on weapons without an available pattern in Season 20.
