History of Devil's Ruin
Revision 14711 by archivist at 2026-10-09 05:14:26
Devil's Ruin is a Solar Sidearm Exotic that fires as a primary energy weapon.
Overview
Its exotic perk, Close the Gap, makes final blows create Firesprites. After picking one up, the alternate weapon action turns on Pyrogenesis, a high-powered Solar laser beam that scorches targets and is strong against Stagger-Unstoppable Champions. In The Edge of Fate it received a boost and Featured Exotic status (+10% damage), per Game Rant.
Acquisition
- Exotic Archive at the Monument to Lost Lights (Tower Courtyard): in the Shadowkeep Exotics tab, for 1 Exotic Cipher and 100,000 Glimmer.
- If you lack a cipher, Xûr offers a free weekly Xenology quest, per Game Rant.
- Historically a Shadowkeep-era Exotic; original unlock method is not covered here.
Catalyst
Added in June 2026, the catalyst grants Collective Action: collecting an elemental pickup or destroying a Tangle increases damage for a period, with Tangle throws extending the duration. The catalyst objective is 700 target defeats. PC Gamer’s June 10, 2026 table lists Vanguard Ops, Crucible, Gambit, or Exotic Order payouts as acquisition sources.
