History of Enhancement Core

Enhancement Cores are an upgrade material in Destiny 2. They are required for weapon upgrades and for forging Masterwork gear. They also pay for Armor energy upgrades, where each higher energy level costs more, and for changing armor affinity at higher energy levels. Cores buy Upgrade Modules and Enhancement Prisms from Banshee-44 in the Tower. Prisms can be broken back down into Cores.

Acquisition

• Dismantling Legendary or Exotic gear can yield cores.
• Bounties from Banshee-44 in the Tower and from Spider on the Tangled Shore can reward them.
• Completing Nightfall: The Ordeal strikes can reward them.
• Spider sells them for 30 Legendary Shards for the first purchase, and the price doubles with each purchase. Purchases are limited per day.
