Exploder Shank

The Exploder Shank is a kamikaze variant of the Shank, a machine-infantry unit of the Fallen. Fallen houses fit them with explosives and send them to destroy themselves near strong opposition. They debuted with the House of Wolves in Destiny and were later adopted by other Fallen houses and syndicates, including the House of Dusk and the House of Salvation.

An Exploder Shank rushes the player, beeps constantly as it closes in, and pauses briefly to gather energy before detonating beside its target. Its flight makes it more dangerous than other suicide units. Detonation is its only attack, and the blast deals Arc damage in Destiny. Reports differ on whether the blast in Destiny 2 is Arc or Solar damage.

The usual counter is to shoot it down at range before it reaches you. If one gets close, dodge away from the blast or destroy it as it approaches.
