History of Famine Challenge Modifiers

Overview

Famine Challenge Modifiers is a Triumph in Destiny 2. The objective is to complete an activity with a Famine modifier active.

How to complete

1. Start an Ops activity on Grandmaster difficulty or higher. Famine modifiers are only available at that difficulty.
2. Open the activity customization for the Ops playlist and go to the Challenge Modifiers section.
3. Turn on a Famine modifier. Any other modifiers can stay on.
4. Complete the activity with the Famine modifier active. The triumph counts the completed activity, so the run has to finish.

If the modifier is missing: A January 2026 Bungie Help forum post described the Famine option as unavailable in every Grandmaster activity the player tried. Another player suggested Famine modifiers may not appear while a special or heavy weekly accelerator is active. If Famine is missing, try a different Grandmaster activity and check whether a special or heavy weekly accelerator is running.
