History of First Mask Upgrade

Overview

First Mask Upgrade is a Triumph in Destiny 2. The objective requires the player to earn their first upgrade for their Festival of the Lost Mask.

How to complete

To complete this triumph, the player must acquire one upgrade for their Festival of the Lost Mask. The 2025 event lists the upgrade as an objective in the Event Hub's Haunted Mask tab, with each upgrade costing 1,500 candy.

1. Collect candy from the event's vendors and activities during the Festival.
2. Open the Haunted Mask tab in the Event Hub and spend 1,500 candy to make the first upgrade.
3. The triumph completes once the first upgrade is acquired. The later upgrades are tracked by the separate Costumed Completionist objective, which needs all three upgrades for 4,500 candy in total.

Note: The Destinypedia page on the Festival of the Lost describes an earlier year, where Rare Masks were upgraded to Legendary Masks using the event material Paper Glue instead. Upgrade methods and costs change between events, so check the current event's Event Hub.
