History of Flawless Proving Grounds

Overview

Flawless Proving Grounds is a Triumph with a value of 5. It requires completing the Strike Proving Grounds in Nightfall: The Ordeal without dying.

How to complete

1. Start the Nightfall: The Ordeal and select the Proving Grounds strike.
2. Set the difficulty to Legend. A forum reply in a 2021 Bungie thread says the triumph requires the strike on Legend difficulty, and a run on Adept did not progress it.
3. Complete the strike with no fireteam deaths.

Route tips

• Approach the land tank by shooting enemies from range while Cabal and Vex fight each other. Watch the Scorpius turrets and the first Unstoppable Champion.
• On the Colossus mini-boss, stay close while shooting its shield, which goes up at half health. This stops its missiles and stomps.
• In the Vehicle Bay, kill enemies from above before dropping in. Prioritize the Cabal Interceptors and Psions, then the Colossus from cover. Goliath tanks have weak spots on their four engines.
• In the boss room, interact with the pillar to start the encounter. The boss fires tracking meteors that can be shot down. When it raises its bubble shield, kill the two Unstoppable Champions first, then break the shield from inside.
• The blazing corridor is a safe spot. A Healing Rift or Classy Restoration negates its damage.
• A guide from the Season of the Haunted recommends two copies of the Armor of the Dying Star mod on chest armor, because the modifier is Acute Solar Burn.
