Full Auto Trigger System is a weapon trait that lets you hold the trigger to fire at full auto. It also gives a small rate-of-fire increase. It is no longer in regular drop rotation.
The trait appears on Pulse Rifles, Scout Rifles, Grenade Launchers and Shotguns. Examples include Nergal PR4 (Pulse Rifle), Metronome-52 and Seven-Six-Five (Scout Rifles), The Prospector (Grenade Launcher) and Unification VII and Hawthorne's Field-Forged Shotgun (Shotguns).
Holding the trigger means you no longer have to time each pull, which makes sustained fire easier and can help you track targets. The trade-off is more recoil and less deliberate shooting, so the weapon is weaker at long range. It suits players who find it hard to tap quickly, and most players can do without it.
