History of Grandmaster

Overview

Grandmaster is a triumph in Destiny 2 that requires completing a Grandmaster Nightfall strike on Grandmaster difficulty. It awards 10 score.

The format has changed across seasons. Season 21 guides describe a weekly Grandmaster node that unlocked in the seventh week of a season, and a 2026 guide reports that Grandmaster is now a difficulty tier in The Portal instead of a separate node.

How to complete

1. Choose Grandmaster difficulty for a Nightfall strike. Grandmaster Nightfalls are capped at 25 Power Levels above your current level.
2. Complete the strike. Each completed Grandmaster Nightfall earns Adept Nightfall Ciphers, and a Platinum run earns four.
3. Exchange 10 Ciphers with Zavala for a copy of the current weekly Adept weapon.
4. Completing all six Grandmaster Nightfalls for the season gilds the Conqueror title.

Tips

• In Season 21, Devil's Lair and Fallen S.A.B.E.R. were Fallen strikes, so bring Anti-Barrier and Overload. The Corrupted is Taken and Hive, so bring Overload and Unstoppable. The Disgraced, The Lightblade, and PsiOps Battleground: Moon are Hive, so bring Anti-Barrier and Unstoppable.
• Against Fallen S.A.B.E.R., a Platinum rank can be missed if you leave the Warsat before every Champion is down.
• Earlier versions of Grandmaster used a Total Conquest triumph that counted six different Grandmaster Nightfalls. Clears of different strikes are what count toward it.
