History of Great Machine

The Great Machine is the Eliksni (Fallen) name for the Traveler. The Fallen met it on their homeworld Riis, where it uplifted their civilization through terraforming and paracausal gifts. When the Black Fleet attacked, the Traveler left and the Eliksni suffered what they call the Whirlwind, a defining trauma that scattered them into Houses.
