History of Guardian Games: Competitive Nightfall

Overview
Guardian Games is an annual spring Destiny 2 event in which Titan, Hunter and Warlock Guardians compete by class, earning Medallions from activities and depositing them at the class podium in The Tower (Eva Levante). Guardian Games: Competitive Nightfall is the Nightfall (The Inverted Spire in the game data) run offered as a Competitive focus activity during the event. Per TheGamer, the Daily Focus rotated between Training and Competitive playlists, with focus activities including Nightfalls, Gambit and Supremacy; the winning class earns a Champion's Package.
Launch and difficulty
Launch from the Nightfall node in the director during Guardian Games with your Guardian Games class item equipped. Variants listed: Advanced, Standard Matchmaking, Private and Class Matchmaking. Higher-end Nightfalls like Grandmaster feed the Diamond medallion contender cards.
Rewards
Medallions (bronze/silver from play; gold and above from Contender Cards) plus normal Nightfall rewards.
Status
Event-limited; available only during Guardian Games windows (e.g. 5 to 26 March 2024).
