History of Hawkmoon

Hawkmoon is an Exotic Kinetic Hand Cannon, an Adaptive Frame at 140 RPM.

Overview

Intrinsic perk: Paracausal Shot. Precision hits and final blows grant stacks of Paracausal Charge (up to 7), and the final round in the magazine deals bonus damage based on the number of stacks.

Acquisition

• Currently: sold by Xûr, Agent of the Nine, on weekends with random rolls (reported cost 125,000 Glimmer, 1 Exotic Cipher and 1 Ascendant Shard; check in-game).
• Historical: during Season of the Hunt it came from the quest "Let Loose Thy Talons" (collect five paracausal feathers, then "As The Crow Flies") and the Harbinger Exotic mission. That content was removed with Destiny 2: The Witch Queen, and the weapon moved to Xûr.

Catalyst

Hunter's Trance requires 700 weapon kills. It adds +1 magazine size and boosts handling, reload speed and range based on Paracausal Charge stacks. It was originally earned by completing Harbinger on Legendary; with that gone, the catalyst quest can drop from Vanguard, Crucible and Gambit playlist activities once you own the gun.
