History of Herald of Finality

Overview

The Herald of Finality is a Taken captain boss in the Salvation's Edge raid, released with Final Shape on June 7, 2024. It is the second encounter in the raid, after Substratum (Destinypedia's order). Some guides call it the first boss encounter, so check the current order in game.

Encounter

The fight, called Dissipation, starts when a Guardian shoots the Taken blight in the middle of the arena. The Herald teleports short distances, uses a Solar Shrapnel Launcher, and fires five Arc Darkness Bolts to blind Guardians. Three sections each hold a Trammel boss that must die first. Chosen players then enter the pit to damage the Herald, and Resonance from plates has to be deposited into pillars and the center box before the damage phase. The Final Shape timer runs through the encounter.
