History of His Own Petard

Overview

His Own Petard is a triumph in Destiny 2 earned in the raid Vow of the Disciple. The objective is to defeat Rhulk, the raid's final boss, with a Glaive equipped.

How to complete

1. Equip a Glaive before the encounter.
2. Enter the final encounter with Rhulk. Approaching his sarcophagus wakes him, and a force field pushes the fireteam back to the starting edge.
3. Step up the first short set of stairs and approach the force field. Rhulk summons his glaive, which applies Pervading Darkness stacks to the fireteam.
4. Shoot the glaive above his head to break it. A long-range weapon is the safest option, since the glaive can take a few hits. The Guardian who lands the killing blow gains the Leeching Force buff.
5. Keep breaking the glaive whenever it is re-summoned, and finish the fight before Pervading Darkness reaches 10 stacks.

Tips:

• Rhulk re-summons the glaive after the Leeching Force buff is lost. If that happens three times, the glaive becomes invincible, so keep the buff rotating.
• The raid's Legendary Lubrae's Ruin is a Solar Glaive, so it is one option for the equipped weapon.
