History of Hot Potato

Overview

Hot Potato is a Portal modifier added with Solstice 2025, which ran August 5 to 19, 2025. Carriable Solar Flares occasionally drop from defeated enemies.

Effect

Passing a Solar Flare between fireteam members increases the damage it deals. Hot Potato was one of several Portal modifiers added in 2025, alongside Fired Up, Class Healing and Igniter. Fired Up fills a heat meter with Solar damage and final blows, causing Solar explosions when full. Class Healing heals when the class ability is used. Igniter makes precision hits on Scorched enemies cause ignitions.
