History of In Check

Overview

In Check is a Triumph in Destiny 2 that requires the Guardian to reveal a unique chessboard in the Unknown Space. It is tied to the community chess puzzle hidden in Eris Morn's throne world in Heresy. Completing it awards 5 Triumph score.

How to complete

1. Collect the chess pieces. Gather all 60 chess pieces first. Most are in The Nether, with others in The Tower, Europa, the European Dead Zone, Eris Morn's apartment, the Court of Blades and the Taken Paths. Some are random drops, so this takes time.
2. Travel to the throne world. Go to Eris Morn's apartment in The Last City and step through the green tear into Eris' Throne World.
3. Find the hidden room. From your spawn, turn 90 degrees right, look over the ledge and jump into the hidden room directly below.
4. Interact with the chessboard. Approach the board in the middle of the circular room and use the "Pick up the King?" prompt. This opens the puzzle in the Unknown Antechamber.

Tip: the board can only be reached once the piece collection is done, so finish the pieces before going to the throne world.
