History of Ionic Return

Overview

Ionic Return is the signature trait of the exotic Borealis Sniper Rifle. Breaking an enemy's shield moves one bullet from reserves into the magazine. Breaking a combatant's shield, or the shield of a Guardian using a Super, with a shield energy type that matches the weapon's current element grants bonus damage for the rest of the magazine. The bonus lasts until the magazine empties or you reload manually.

Sources disagree on the exact figures. An older wiki entry gives a 40% PvE damage boost, while a newer database describes five bonus shots with increased body-shot and critical damage. Check in-game before relying on either number.
