Killing Wind is a Weapon Perk that grants increased mobility, weapon range, and handling for a short time after a final blow. Bungie classifies it as a kill-chaining perk. Update 8.1.0.3 replaced it on the curated Deadlock roll.

Overview

Killing Wind is a Trait that rolls on a wide spread of weapon types, including Hawkmoon, Biting Winds, Glacioclasm and Finite Impactor. Its effect is per weapon: only the weapon that gets the final blow receives the boost.

Numbers

In 2020 (Season 11), the boost lasted about 5 seconds per kill, with consecutive kills extending it, so it can run for longer during a kill streak. The range increase varies by weapon and adds a few meters.

Tips

Killing Wind suits weapons that keep getting kills in quick succession, since each kill refreshes the boost. The perk is mainly a reach and handling bonus, so it is a comfortable pick on weapons that are already consistent at range.
