History of Lore book

Lore books are collectible story entries in Destiny 2, introduced in Destiny 2: Forsaken. They are grouped into categories such as The Vanguard, The Light, Dusk and Dawn, and The Darkness, and unlock by finding collectibles, hearing radio messages or completing tasks. Originally listed with Triumphs, lore moved to the Collections screen when Lightfall launched. Some triumph seals are themed on lore books, for example the Chronicler seal.

The Destiny 2 Wiki lists more than 130 lore books.
