History of Message from Aunor V

Overview

Message from Aunor V is a triumph in Destiny 2 tied to the lore book The Warlock Aunor, added in Season of the Drifter. The message is from the Praxic Warlock Aunor Mahal and includes a transcript of a Vanguard casualty report.

Message

The entry opens with a transcript of two Guardians, a Titan and a Warlock, reviewing Guardian deaths across the European Dead Zone, the Dreaming City, Nessus and the Tangled Shore. The Titan defends the risks as part of raiding and Crucible play. The Warlock calls the Drifter reckless and threatens to kill him and his Ghost if another Guardian dies.

Aunor says they stole the transcript and warns that the recipient's allies are dying under the Drifter's watch. The Praxic Order is paralyzed over whether to restrain the Drifter and the Vanguard's Ghosts, and the Shadows of Yor remain active in the City.

Aunor accuses the Drifter of turning Guardians against the Traveler's dogma and promoting Darkness as a useful tool. Aunor argues that he is not above the system and that his Reckoning armor is a self-serving choice within a system he built.
