History of Message from Aunor X

Overview

Message from Aunor X is a triumph in Destiny 2 tied to the lore book The Warlock Aunor, added in Season of the Drifter. It is the final message in the series and is from the Praxic Warlock Aunor Mahal, described as a cormorant-level encrypted message.

Message

Aunor credits the recipient's Ghost with analytical work worthy of the Praxic Order and declares the investigation over.

The tapes the Guardian found reveal the truth they were hunting, but it differs from what Aunor expected. Instead of a purely evil figure, Dredgen Yor appears tragic and pathetic.

The Order's decision is that the Drifter stays under close watch but poses no direct threat as long as he cooperates with the Vanguard and Lord Shaxx. The members of the Shadows of Yor that Gambit uncovered were mostly weak gunmen and Ghost-equipped thugs, and Shin Malphur did not appear.

Aunor still distrusts the Drifter, who "smelled like a rat".

How to unlock

1. Collect the Aunor messages that arrive in the Postmaster.
2. Archive each message with X. This opens the book under Stolen Intelligence in the lore section.
3. Entries unlock as Aunor sends new messages and as the investigation into the Drifter progresses.

Tips

Read message X last, after the full run of messages, so the Dredgen Yor and Shadows of Yor references make sense.
