History of Mote Thief

Overview

Mote Thief is an invader triumph in Gambit. As an Invader, steal 3 Motes from the opposing team's arena and return safely. Players report that it unlocks the final entry of the A Drifter's Gambit lore book.

How to complete

1. Invade the opposing arena through the Invasion portal. Portals open only a few times per match.
2. Time the invasion for just after the enemy team has banked. They are then fighting the next wave, and motes are on the ground.
3. Motes come from enemies that the invaded team kills. Guardians you kill drop no motes, so collect the motes dropped by enemies.
4. Target the player carrying the most motes, steal from them, and take 3 motes back. Dying while carrying motes loses them, so the return trip is the hard part. Kill or scare off the defenders, then hide or leave safely.
