History of My Best Friend

Overview

My Best Friend is a Triumph in Destiny 2 that requires obtaining the Exotic Auto Rifle Khvostov 7G-0X. It is from Season 24 and is tied to The Pale Heart. Completing this triumph awards 10 Triumph points.

How to complete

The exotic is earned through a multi-step chain in The Pale Heart:

1. Start with Micah-10 and the quest Alone in the Dark in The Pale Heart. This unlocks the region chests and the Cyst activities.
2. Collect 15 Lost Encryption Bits: 9 from region chests (3 each in The Landing, The Blooming, and The Impasse) and 6 from Cyst activities in The Pale Heart.
3. Loot the legendary chest on the Cosmodrome wall at the Impasse and Divide line. The exotic step does not open until this chest is looted.
4. Collect 17 Motes of Light: 9 from Overthrow bosses across the three regions and 8 from Visions of the Traveler (the hidden Traveler nodes). Turn them in at the old Tower Speaker room to receive the exotic.

If you already have the legendary Khvostov, skip the Lost Encryption Bit loop and go straight to the motes. The bit and mote counts are launch figures and may have changed since.

Perks

The intrinsic perk is The Right Choice, and the roll also includes Shoot to Loot and Eyes Up, the catalyst track once the exotic is in your vault.
