History of Nitrogen

Overview

Nitrogen is a lore triumph that is completed by reading the chapter "Nitrogen" in the lore book The Awoken of the Reef, introduced with Forsaken.

How to unlock

Lore book entries are unlocked by collecting the memory crystals scattered across the worlds of Destiny 2. Once the book's chapters are unlocked, open The Awoken of the Reef in the lore collection and read the chapter.

The chapter

The chapter is narrated in the third person and follows Koro and Tellia on the Reef. Koro is delighted by a lightning strike, which he explains fertilizes the soil by splitting nitrogen in the air. Tellia is skeptical of farming on the Reef and wants to return to a sealed habitat. Koro says they are refugees who must live off the land, and he mentions a Fallen figure on Hygeia who pays people to maintain telescopes, which shocks Tellia.
