History of Operation Thunderbolt (Twilight)

Overview

Operation Thunderbolt (Twilight) is the second mission of Season of the Deep, accessed through the Into the Depths quest. In the 2023 seasonal sequence, the mission sent a 1–3 player fireteam to the Twilight depth of Titan's methane sea to extract Egregore Coral for Sloane and Ahsa. The mission was moved to the Destiny Content Vault in June 2024.

Walkthrough

1. In the H.E.L.M. mission launch area, activate one of Ahsa's blessings and dive into the water. Use the submerged terminal switch to open the route and follow the air bubbles and passages to the drill chamber.
2. Plant the Egregore Resonator. Defeat the marked Servitors, carry their three fuel cells to the drill, and keep refueling it as it extracts the coral.
3. After the forced transmat to the deeper chamber, place the second Resonator and fight J4W-S, Wrath-Hunter Servitor. When its overshield activates and it pulls you into a side cavern, destroy the Shield Servitors, return through the tunnel, and repeat when the mechanic returns.
4. Defeat J4W-S, collect the Egregore Coral, and return it to Sloane.

The reward chest could include a Deep Engram and Salvaged Fishing Tackle (2023).
