History of Patterns & Catalysts

Patterns & Catalysts is a tab of the Collections screen in Destiny 2 that tracks weapon Patterns (for crafted weapons) and Exotic catalysts. Open Collections from the character menu and select the Patterns & Catalysts tab on the right.

The fourth section lists every catalyst in the game. According to Grindout, each catalyst you are missing shows exactly where it drops, so you do not farm the wrong activity; its Exotic Catalysts section lists 18 ritual-activity catalysts, 8 raid and dungeon catalysts and 9 reworked catalysts with new perks. Sportskeeda's summary (search snippet only) says raid and dungeon Exotic catalysts drop from the final boss of the original activity, while most others come from ritual activities and Exotic Orders.

Notes

The sources describe the post-Monument of Triumph state of the game (June 2026); older seasons may have differed. The Patterns half of the tab (weapon Patterns used in weapon crafting) was not covered in detail by the fetched sources.
