History of Perfect Catch

Overview

A Perfect Catch is a Fishing mechanic from Season of the Deep. When the bite prompt appears, press the interact button right away to land a Perfect Catch. Pressing a little late still catches the fish, just not as a Perfect Catch. Pressing before the float goes under pulls the hook out with no fish and loses the bait.

Perfect Catches make higher-rarity fish more likely. Sources disagree on whether they also fill the Focused Fishing meter directly. Newer guides say they do.
