History of Public Event

Overview

A Public Event is a cooperative encounter in a Destiny 2 patrol space that any nearby players can join. Events are announced about five minutes before they start, with a map icon marking the location.

Heroic

When extra objectives are met during the event it turns into a Heroic public event, which is harder but pays better, with chances of multiple gear drops or an Exotic Engram. Completing events yields Glimmer, gear and planetary materials; failing still gives basic rewards without gear.
