History of Public Sector

Overview

A Public Sector is an area of a Destination in Destiny 2 where Public Events take place and other players can normally be encountered. Events cycle through a destination's public sectors in random order, and an icon on the Director map marks the sector where the next event will happen.

Destinypedia defines the term by location instead, describing public sectors as the areas where each destination's main vendor is located.

Examples

Destinypedia lists public sectors by destination. On Earth these include Trostland in the European Dead Zone and The Steppes in the Cosmodrome. Other examples are Exodus Black on Nessus and Siren's Watch on Titan.
