History of Red Border

Overview

A red border is the red frame on a weapon that has Deepsight Resonance and an extractable crafting pattern. Nearly every craftable weapon needs five red-border drops to unlock its pattern (High Ground Gaming).

Last Wish

In the Last Wish raid, red-border weapons drop randomly from any encounter except the exotic One Thousand Voices. Eight legendary weapons are craftable; each needs five red-border copies. Search coverage says Last Wish crafting arrived in Season 21 (Season of the Deep), with the introductory quest in the Enclave on Mars and the pursuit from Banshee-44/Hawthorne; sources differ on the vendor, so verify in game.
