Overview
Season Rank is the progression level that rises with season experience earned during each Season. Since Shadowkeep, experience is shared across all three characters on an account and is tied to season rank, replacing character levels.
Earning XP
Experience comes from defeating enemies, looting chests, completing activities, and finishing quests, bounties and seasonal challenges. Each rank costs 100,000 experience points, and the blue experience bar at the bottom of the screen shows progress toward the next rank.
Season rank resets at the start of each season.
Rewards
Reaching the first 100 ranks unlocks the matching Season Pass rewards. After rank 100, a Bright Engram is granted every 5 ranks. Experience also unlocks Seasonal Mods and gives bonus Power through the Seasonal Artifact.
XP boosts
Well-Rested doubles experience gain after the weekly reset until 5 ranks are gained that week. Experience Ghost Mods give a constant boost of 2% to 12%, depending on the mod. The Season Pass adds its own XP bonuses that grow as the pass ranks up.
