History of Shadows of Calus

The Shadows of Calus were an elite team of Loyalist champions serving Emperor Calus, drawn from many civilizations he met during his exile. They were assassins. Calus first sent them after those involved in the Midnight Coup. He personally recruited the first members from his own Loyalists, such as Valus Nohr and Feltroc. Later, candidates auditioned through a trial aboard The Leviathan, and successful ones received the Shadow title.

Their first mission, an attempt to kill Dominus Ghaul, failed and every Shadow involved died. Guardian Shadows later helped clear The Leviathan of enemy incursions, and one stole The Fourth Horseman from the Vanguard vaults. The group operated after Calus's encounter with the Black Edge, before the Red War, and first appeared in Season of Opulence (2019).
